How do the SLS-200 SmartLock and DuraLock DL-100 differ?
Both the SLS-200 SmartLock and DuraLock DL-100 are high-security locks designed for trailer doors. The SLS-200 offers smart connectivity (Bluetooth, NFC, and cellular options), allowing remote access through a mobile app or cloud gateway.
The DuraLock DL-100 is a robust, key-operated lock focused on durability and resistance to tampering without connectivity features.
What is the installation process like? Do I need tools?
Both the DuraLock and SLS are easy to install. Just replace the existing door hasp and bolt either lock to the door without drilling new holes. Simply undo the 2 nuts holding the door hasp and install either using the same holes.
The DuraLock uses the same holes with an adjustable socket for various trailer door configurations, while the SLS-200 bolts directly to the door and can be controlled via app.
How do the locks protect against theft and tampering?
The SLS-200 features end-to-end encryption for app and cloud-based unlocking, along with sensors that detect tampering and lock status changes.
The DuraLock uses a high-security, anti-pick and anti-drill key cylinder, and its locking pin sits recessed to prevent prying.
What type of batteries are used?
The SLS-200 is powered by a long-lasting Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LTC) battery with a lifespan of 3-5 years. If the battery runs out, an emergency USB cable can provide temporary power.
The DuraLock does not require a battery, as it is a manual lock.
Can your solutions withstand extreme conditions on the road?
Both locks are built from high-quality aluminum to resist corrosion and wear. The SLS-200 operates in extreme temperatures from -40°C to 85°C and has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
The DuraLock is salt spray and UV resistant, providing reliable performance in various climates.
What types of keys are used?
The SLS-200 uses digital “soft keys”, controlled entirely through a secure app using Bluetooth or NFC, or remotely via a cloud platform, allowing remote permissions and access control.
The DuraLock offers unique individual physical keys, keyed-alike options, and master keys upon request, making it suitable for various fleet security needs.
How secure are the locks in terms of certification and testing?
The SLS-200 and DuraLock both meet high standards of security. The DuraLock is certified to Level C per GA/T 73-2015 and holds UL and CE certifications.
The SLS-200’s security includes encrypted communications and tamper detection features to ensure robust protection.
What maintenance is required?
The SLS-200 requires occasional battery replacement, which is easy to do without affecting its water-resistant rating, and firmware updates can be done over the air (OTA).
The DuraLock requires no battery or electronic maintenance, with a mechanical lifespan rated for up to 30,000 cycles.
